About Kingdom Nexus
How rankings and leaderboards work: Elo system, tiers, and category definitions.
Kingdom Nexus uses an Elo-style rating to rank kingdoms based on KvK match results. Each kingdom starts at 1000 Elo and gains or loses points after every match, depending on the result and the opponentβs strength.
How a match affects Elo
- Expected score β E = 1 / (1 + 10^((R_opp β R_you) / 400)). Beating a stronger opponent gives more points; losing to a weaker one costs more.
- Phase change β ΞR = K Γ (S β E), with K = 20. Prep and battle are scored separately (win = 1, loss = 0), then rounded and summed.
- Takeover bonus β If a kingdom wins both prep and battle, it gets an extra bonus in the range [10, 30] Elo (weaker opponents get a larger bonus). The loser loses the same amount.
Matches are processed in chronological order (by KvK/season). Bye matches (unknown opponent) are skipped.
Kingdoms are grouped into tiers by current Elo. Thresholds:
- Sβ₯ 1150 Elo
- Aβ₯ 1100 Elo
- Bβ₯ 1050 Elo
- Cβ₯ 1000 Elo
- D< 1000 Elo
Each KvK match has a prep phase (preparation winner) and a battle phase (castle winner). From the kingdomβs perspective, that gives four possible outcomes:
- Domination β Won prep and won battle. Counted in the Dominations leaderboard; also drives the domination streak.
- Comeback β Lost prep but won battle. Counted in the Comebacks leaderboard.
- Reversal β Won prep but lost battle. Counted in the Reversals leaderboard.
- Invasion β Lost prep and lost battle. Counted in the Invasions leaderboard.
Leaderboards also track Prep Win Streak and Battle Win Streak (current consecutive wins in each phase), plus Elo Score for overall strength.
On the Leaderboards page you can see top kingdoms for each metric:
